Abstract

South Africa is at present experiencing a radical change by the introduction of the metric system. In this article, the advantages of the modern internationally accepted metric system (S.I.) are sketched. To obtain the full benefit of this system, it must be correctly applied from the beginning. Guidance is given as to how an organisation can tackle the task of changing over and the importance of using the correct metric instruments is emphasised.
